Tutorial #6, Humanoid Animation (HAnim) v2
Humanoid Animation (HAnim) Progress: Past Present Future
Hello there! HAnim models include full-fidelity human skeleton at multiple levels of articulation (LOA).
Abstract. The new Humanoid Animation (HAnim) Version 2 International Standard provides advanced motion animation and full-fidelity human skeleton representations, now implemented in X3D4 with further opportunities emerging for modeling facial expressions and internal organs.
The Humanoid Animation (HAnim) International Standard (IS) is an abstract representation for modeling the skeleton and skin of 3D human figures. HAnim describes a standard representation of humanoids that allows creation of human figures that can be interoperably animated, using behavior scripts or motion animation data created by a variety of modeling tools. The new HAnim Version 2 includes anatomically correct hands and feet at four Levels of Articulation (LOA) for sharable motion animation. Validation tools are thorough and example models are steadily growing. Much applied work is now active and possible using existing HAnim2/X3D4 standards, so multiple opportunities for participant engagement also presented.
