Past Web3D Conferences
Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, all of the Web3D Conferences are each sponsored by ACM SIGGRAPH in cooperation with Web3D Consortium.
Web3D Conferences have been an annual event since 1995. In the early years they were called VRML Symposia. Having a strong academic basis for understanding challenges and achievements has led to strong steady growth in capabilities for 3D graphics on the World Wide Web.
Academic research and applied industry work are shared and discussed together annually. Interest areas include multiple application domains including e-commerce, education, cultural heritage, entertainment and infotainment, social media, tourism, medicine, defense, industry and construction. Conference tracks include research papers, posters, tutorials, workshops, demonstrations, keynote presentations and panel sessions.
